Program Rules

Authorization Numbers

Participants are given an authorization number every year to buy or contract eligible automobiles. And the program rules state:

  • Candidates can receive two authorizations annually.

Once the authorization numbers have been supplied, General Motors will send participants a verification notice, alerting them the authorization number has been sent.

Inducements

Candidates are banned from canvassing or receiving financial compensation for trying to sell authorization numbers or anything else related to the program. Additionally, candidates are prohibited from accepting payment from other dealers. However, candidates may take inducements of lesser value (as much as $50), as long as the inducement is provided to the public.

Titling Limitation

Any vehicle bought or contracted under the program is to be used for personal and noncommercial transportation only by the candidate. It is forbidden to buy or contract a vehicle (under the program) for business purposes.

Automobiles bought or contracted under the program are to be registered, titled, insured. and licensed by the candidate.
