It’s official. In 2023, Chevy’s mid-size pickup stepped into its third generation. And with an all-new trim expanded in breadth and maturity, the new Chevy Colorado is powered solely by a turbocharged 2.7-liter inline-four and eight-speed automatic transmission. Also, the interior offers a significant enhancement, now boasting a giant 11.3-inch infotainment monitor as standard equipment. But you’re probably wondering what else the new Chevy truck offers; keep reading to find out.

What's Expected for 2023?

With a remodeled body, upgraded powertrain choices, and an improved interior, the new Chevy Colorado is a crew cab with a bed measuring 5 feet 2 inches long. Yet it remains available in either rear- or four-wheel-drive setups. However, the V-6 and the Duramax diesel powertrains provided in the generation prior will no longer be available.

Engine and Performance

The new Colorado still uses an independent front suspension with a robust rear axle with leaf springs. Also, the ZR2 mounts large Mutlimatic DSSV dampers on the front, with the rear DSSVs now positioned to the frame’s outside. The WT and LT trims utilize an open rear differential, and the Z71 and Trail Boss pickups have a limited-slip unit. Only the all-terrain ZR2 is equipped with power-locking front and rear differentials.

Interior Space for Cargo and Comfort

The new Chevy Colorado has drastically improved its interior design. Each Colorado is a four-door crew cab. On the inside, a new center console is available, the gear shifts closer to the cab’s passenger side, and the cupholders are situated in front of the center console rather than being “hidden” to the gear selector’s opposite. Also, a new infotainment monitor, gauge cluster, and steering wheel finalize the pickup’s revamp.

Connectivity With Infotainment

Each new Chevy Colorado gets a giant 11.3-inch infotainment monitor as standard equipment. Additionally, the 2023 Colorado comes with wireless phone-charging capability yet retains its USB ports if required. The Colorado can also be armed with Google Built-In to manage music, navigation, and other automotive operations. Lastly, each Colorado boasts the standard features of wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay.

Safety and Driver-Assistance Attributes

The index of driver-assistance attributes for the Colorado is bountiful and offers key safety features such as:

  • Available adaptive cruise control
  • Standard lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist
  • Standard forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking
