Possessing more than just a sleek appearance, this warm and welcoming SUV offers a myriad of utility features that makes it a cut above its predecessors.

As such, it’s worth your consideration – or at the very least – review. For this reason, you should make a visit to your local Chevrolet dealership. But if you have additional questions, then keep reading to learn more.

Overview

The new Chevrolet Equinox at Glencoe has arrived. And with its spacious interior coupled with its strapping performance and feature-optimized infotainment system, this model can truly go the distance. Additionally, it offers discretionary AWD and is power-generated by a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine.

With a novel forefront, the 2022 Equinox presents a few changes to its veneer. This is exemplified in its distinguished headlights, a newly developed grille, as well as its modernized bumpers.

Additionally, a new RS trim has been incorporated into the lineup this year. And this latest addition has many athletic prompts, including black 19” wheels and jetblack exterior trim. The inside offers a distinct darkened upholstery, red stitching, as well as a special shift knob.

The first-rate Premier also offers some stylish details within the cabin like an upscale gloss-black console trim in addition to French stitching.

Price Point

The baseline LS trim begins at a modest $26,995. This comes with a plethora of standard features like driver assistance technology, which includes lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning in addition to emergency braking.

Moving on up to the more pricey trim is the LT at $28,095. With Bluetooth phone connectivity, as well as Wireless Apple CarPlay/Wireless Android Auto, and a 6-speaker system, the LT is idyllic.

And lastly, on the upper echelon of the 2022 Equinox lineup is the Premiere model, which comes in at $32,145. Equipped with heated driver and passenger seats, in addition to intelligent memory settings, and a Keyless Start, push-button, you’ll be in heaven with the high-end Premiere model.

Performance and Transmission

The conventional six-speed automatic adjusts effortlessly. Engaging, responsive and pleasurable to operate, the Equinox drives proficiently. Moreover, its handling is precise and undeviating, and – when accurately armed – the Chevy can haul as much as 3500 pounds.

This level of performance adds a confident level of utility to the 2022 Chevy Equinox. You can strap a trailer to it for the purposes of moving, camping, or even hauling materials – the versatility is boundless.

Real-World MPG and Fuel Economy

The EPA calculates that the FWD Equinox will obtain 26 mpg within the city and 31 mpg on the freeway. Incorporating AWD lowers both of these rankings by 1 mpg. We exposed the Equinox to our real world 75-mph fuel-economy assessment route and with FWD, it received 32 mpg on the freeway; and with the AWD version, we discerned 28 mpg.

Cabin Interior

Constructed from hard wearing materials and quaintly designed, the cabin of the Equinox will inspire mass appeal. The front and rear passenger seats are snug and comfortable additions in the commodious interior and provide enough features to ensure passengers are engaged for the more extensive excursions.

Additionally, the cabin sports a myriad of cupholders, and the majority of interior opulences come as standard or discretionary equipment on higher level models. Each trim has its perks and benefits. Even the baseline L trim offers a spacious interior that we managed to stuff up to eight carry-on suitcases inside of.

Connectedness and Infotainment

The MyLink infotainment system from Chevrolet is displayed in the dash as a 7” or 8” touchscreen. This ultramodern system offers both responsiveness and simplicity in terms of usage. Furthermore, standard features include Android Auto and Apple CarPlay in addition to audio streaming and Bluetooth connectivity.

Safety and Driver-Assistance Attributes

The Equinox is host to a vast scope of standard and discretionary driver-assistance technology. Some of these attributes include but are certainly not limited to:

  • Standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection
  • Standard lane-keeping assist with lane-departure alert
  • Available adaptive cruise control

Maintenance and Warranty Coverage

Chevy's warranty bundle offers basic coverage. However, Chevy provides a free dealer maintenance visit. It is valid within your first 365 days of ownership.

  • Limited warranty covers 36,000 miles (or 3 years)
  • Powertrain warranty covers 60,000 miles (or 5 years)
  • Complimentary for the first maintenance visit is covered
